Playgroup
The Immanuel Community Playgroup is a fun, safe, enriching, and welcoming space for children, parents and carers. We meet from 9am on Thursday mornings, during school term.

When does playgroup meet?

Early arrival from 8:30am, straight after school drop-off, is welcome.
What do I bring?

✅ Extra morning tea you require (no nuts pls!)
We provide fruit, plus coffee, tea, and biscuits for parents/carers.
Can I invite others to attend?
Yes, definitely spread the word! This group is for everyone and for you. We have flyers you can take to share this group with friends.
Can I take photos?
Unfortunately no. We understand that many parents are rightly cautious about privacy. Therefore, we’re a “no-photo zone.” There may be the odd occasion that one of our staff team members takes some photos, but we’ll seek your written permission first. Thanks for your understanding.
Where does playgroup meet?
The group meets at Immanuel Lutheran Church, at the Worship Centre on the Fellowship Terrace — follow the signs!
This is a covered outdoor space. We also have plenty of indoor space in case of bad weather.
What is the cost?
Your first term is free, while you are trying out the playgroup!
After this, we ask families to donate $25 per term, or $5 for casual visits, to help cover costs. We have tap-and-go EPTPOS for easy payment.
We don’t want anyone to miss out, so please chat to our team about financial assistance.
Where do I park?
There is plenty of parking after 8:30am. Enter via 126 Wises Rd, then turn left at the roundabout onto Forest Drive. There is parking near the Worship Centre, including the green “Drop-and-Go” spaces.
What ages can attend?
The group is specifically designed for pre-primary-school children, aged 0–5. Other older children are welcome to attend, but please check-in with our team first.
What does a typical session look like?
8:30am Early arrival & sign-in
9:00am Free play
9:30am Singing time
9:45am Story time
10:00am Activity time (craft, games)
10:30am Morning tea (we provide fruit)
11:00am Pack-up & sign-out
What type of playgroup is it?
There are different types of playgroups. This group is semi-structured, facilitator-led, and parent-supported.
Semi-structured: We have a very basic structure to keep the morning fun.
Facilitator-led: Each week there is a facilitator who will help run the morning.
Parent-supported: We ask that parents remain on-site and engaged with their children throughout the session. Parents are welcome to join the volunteer roster to act as facilitator.
Do I need to register?
No, there is no need to complete a registration form before you arrive — the group operates on a walk-in basis. We’ll ask for your details the first time you attend and sign-in, and then we’ll securely store these for the next time you come.
